Anatomy of Human brain shows that it consists of a 'gray' matter and a 'white' matter. Studies revealed that the intelligence was linked to the thickness of grey matter i.e. cerebral cortex of the brain. This region is associated with memory, thoughts, language and consciousness. The more thick the region of grey matter in a person, the more he is intelligent. Also the surface area of cortex is associated with the intelligence, the surface area is reached to it's maximum in early age and then decreased. Intelligence is related to the magnitude and timings of changes in brain structure during the development than to the brain structure per se. The development of cortex is never completed but it is a continuing intelligence-dependant development.
